A logo that gradually emerges into view

Developed through a generative approach at the intersection of design and programming, Krata, the primary typeface of the identity, reflects arts visibles’ focus on the structuring and visibility of information.

Emerging from a grid, the logo’s modular letterforms evoke the nature of data in the visual arts domain —fragmented and diverse, yet holding the promise of a powerful, collective front. Krata’s varying type weights are used to create a wordmark with a gradual reveal, allowing the word “arts” to gradually come into view. In doing so, Krata establishes a conceptual parallel between data, its organization, and its discoverability.
